PartsMeet Protection
Your money is held until you confirm the part arrived as described. If it's not, you get a full refund.
Effective 2026-04-21. Applies to all orders placed on partsmeet.com.
How it works
- You pay through PartsMeet at checkout. Stripe authorizes the full amount and holds it.
- The seller ships the part using a pre-paid PartsMeet shipping label with tracking.
- After delivery, you have 48 hours to inspect the part and confirm or open a dispute.
- If you confirm (or the 48 hours pass without a dispute), payment is released to the seller minus the PartsMeet fee.
- If you open a dispute, the hold stays in place while our team reviews. Admin review within 2 business days.
What is covered
PartsMeet Protection covers the buyer in these situations:
- Item not received. The carrier confirms delivery did not happen, or the tracking stalls for over 21 days past the expected arrival date.
- Item not as described. The part you received materially differs from the listing photos, title, description, or fitment claims. Examples include wrong part number, different condition, undisclosed damage, missing components.
- Damaged in transit. The part was damaged during shipping and you report it within 48 hours of delivery with photo evidence. Applies when proper packaging requirements were met by the seller.
What is not covered
- Buyer's remorse or a change of mind after delivery.
- Fitment mistakes caused by the buyer (e.g. buying an engine part for the wrong chassis code despite the listing being accurate).
- Damage caused after delivery, including improper installation.
- Transactions completed off-platform. If you pay through Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, wire, or any other method outside PartsMeet checkout, PartsMeet Protection does not apply.
- Items explicitly sold as-is with visible defects disclosed in the listing.
- Disputes opened after the 48-hour confirmation window has closed without a prior dispute.
Claim scope and cap
If your claim is approved, the remedy is a full refund of the transaction value: item price, PartsMeet Protection fee, shipping paid through PartsMeet, and estimated duties collected at checkout. The refund is returned to the original payment method.
PartsMeet Protection is capped at the transaction value on the order in question. We do not cover consequential damages (lost labor, lost race weekend, rental car costs, downtime, or any other indirect cost). Claims are evaluated per order, not across multiple orders.
Claim window
You must open a dispute within 48 hours of deliveryas marked by the carrier's tracking. After 48 hours, the order auto-confirms and payment is released to the seller. Once auto-confirmed, PartsMeet Protection claims are closed for that order.
For “item not received” claims where tracking shows non-delivery, you have up to 30 days from the expected delivery date to open a dispute.
How to open a claim
- Go to the order page for the part in question.
- Click Open Dispute within the 48-hour inspection window.
- Provide evidence: photos of the part as received, photos of the packaging, photos of the shipping label, and a written description of what differs from the listing.
- PartsMeet admin will review within 2 business days and respond with a decision or a request for additional evidence.
- If the claim is approved, the refund is initiated to your original payment method. Processing time depends on your bank or card issuer (typically 5-10 business days).
Seller rights
Sellers have the right to respond to disputes with their own evidence. If a seller demonstrates that the part was delivered as described, the claim is denied and the seller is paid. Repeated abuse of PartsMeet Protection by bad-faith buyers may result in account restriction or termination.
What PartsMeet Protection costs
PartsMeet Protection is included on every order at no additional charge. PartsMeet does not charge a protection fee, platform fee, or listing fee. Standard Stripe payment processing fees are passed through to the buyer at checkout.
