About PartsMeet

The global marketplace for car parts.

What we do

PartsMeet is a peer-to-peer marketplace where car enthusiasts buy and sell used and hard-to-find parts across borders. Every transaction is buyer-protected: the buyer's payment is held by Stripe until the part arrives and the buyer confirms it matches the listing. Sellers get guaranteed payouts. Buyers get their money back if something goes wrong.

Who we serve

Car enthusiasts in the JDM, Euro, and USDM communities who need parts that exist in another country. Think rare OEM panels for a Skyline R34 in the US, a Porsche 911 part still sitting on a shelf in Germany, or a Supra bumper only available through a seller in Japan.

How a purchase works

  1. Buyer searches by Year / Make / Model and sees the full landed cost (item + shipping + duties + taxes) upfront.
  2. Buyer pays at checkout. Stripe authorizes the full amount using manual-capture, holding it until buyer confirmation.
  3. Seller buys a pre-paid shipping label with customs forms pre-filled through our carrier integration.
  4. Carrier scans the parcel and delivery tracking updates appear on the order page in real time.
  5. After delivery, the buyer has 48 hours to confirm the part or open a dispute.
  6. On confirmation (or after the 48-hour auto-confirm window), Stripe transfers funds to the seller minus the 8% platform fee.

Safety and trust

  • Seller identity verification through Stripe Identity.
  • Manual-capture payment on every order — seller is only paid after buyer confirmation.
  • Dispute resolution with human review and five-business-day decision window.
  • Pre-ship review on high-risk orders and automated seller restrictions for repeat no-ship behavior.
  • No counterfeit listings, no safety-restricted categories (airbags, catalytic converters, etc.).

Fees

PartsMeet charges a total of 8%, split between buyer and seller. You see the full landed cost before checkout — no surprise fees at the door.

  • Buyer protection fee: 3%, added to the item price at checkout. Funds the buyer-protection hold, dispute team, and fraud review.
  • Seller fee: 5%, deducted from the payout. Funds listing hosting, cross-border shipping labels, and customs documentation.
  • First 5 sales for new sellers: 0% seller fee. Build your reputation before we charge.

On a $200 part:

  • Buyer pays: $206 (item + 3% buyer protection), plus shipping and duties
  • Seller receives: $190 (after 5% seller fee)
  • PartsMeet: $16 total

For comparison: the same $200 part on eBay Motors would net the seller roughly $170-174 after its 13-15% final-value fee. Grailed and StockX sit around 12-13% total. PartsMeet is built to be the cheapest protected marketplace for enthusiast parts.

What we sell

Used and new aftermarket car parts: body panels, trim, engine components, suspension, wheels, interior parts, electronics, and similar automotive aftermarket items (MCC 5533). PartsMeet prohibits counterfeit parts, stolen goods, safety-restricted items (airbags, catalytic converters, weapons), and any part whose sale is restricted by the buyer or seller's jurisdiction.
